Tokyo | All I wanted to do was to make something beautiful

While you’re reading this I’m in Tokyo with my hubby. I’ve been dreaming about this day since I was 16 years old. Watching every single episode of Naruto, movies from Studio Ghibli while eating Japanese crackers and noodles and sketching manga at the same time. For me its very surreal. Studio Ghibli Museum is on the list of things we want to do and by tomorrow it will be in our reach. We went to see the beautiful piece by Hayao Miyazaki (co-founder of Studio Ghibli) – The Wind Rises, which is, with tears in my eyes, his last film. Thank you for every beautiful thing you’ve brought to this world.

The quote “All I wanted to do was to make something beautiful” by the aircraft designer Jiro Horikoshi inspired Miyasaki to make this film.

See you in a few days, with tons of tips, photos, videos and shopping from Tokyo.

This book

1978, Derek Ridgers, started to collect these amazing photos of punks and released them in the book 78-87 London Youth (that I wish to possess some day). The result is great, you just want to travel back in time.

Took a long walk with my frencie to Scandinavian Photo to not only find out that my studio lights were all good (thank you) but also some pretty cool macro lenses from Phottix. Just did some test photos and I already love them. You get 4 different lenses (I use them on our NX300 from Samsung) for less than 300 sek. Great deal!

This I call a Selfie

“You are the artist, architect, designer, philosopher, magician, sleuth, and adventurer. You are the New Creative…”

One massive mix of different creative minds becomes the canvas of their own art. Their work gets projected in their white painted face and creates in my eyes, perfection. Powered by my biggest internet crush, Behance.

Swedish Horns for SBCA & House of Session

Last thursday Swedish Beauty & Cosmetic Awards were held at the Nordic Museum in Stockholm where they handed out awards for 38 different products. House of Session were in charge of the whole layout of the event + the amazing performances. I had the opportunity to create a piece to be worn by the wonderful Gretchen. It took about 60-75 hours to make, I lost control of the time, and its made out of  mirror-fabric and chicken wire.

Maxi skirts

Don’t happen often these days, in a way very grateful for that – loads of graphic design on the menu, but I got a few days off to do what I love the most. Create beautiful things for people to wear. This time I did a skirt for my own wardrobe and a maxi skirt in red tulle for my sister in crime, Camilla. Now I just have to deliver it and wait for some beautiful pictures of her in it! Pishi was, as always together with Fleet (dog) my quality controller.

Saturday Funday

This weekend we went to the most amazing studio I’ve ever been to. Think Camilla spent some time on the countryside, got some fresh air, came up with about 197 ideas and picked one out. Agnes were behind the camera, me infront, and Cam did the make up and everything else. Hasselblad, chocolate, Fleet running around like a maniac chewing on brushes, loads of coffee and creative ideas. Had almost forgotten how much I love being in the studio, usually behind the camera. Can’t wait to see the result!

Future Islands

My brother showed me this magic man a few days ago. And that day we saw this video about 20 times. This man, performs with a bigger empathy than no other has ever done. A gif from to celebrate, and a video to finish.

From time to time I do photo shoots with my co-curator here on the site, Camilla, and this is the result from one of them.
